Outlook for stocks of automobile companies continues to remain grim for the next week as demand
for new vehicles is subdued post the festival season and amid liquidity crisis in the non-banking
financial companies. The sector is among the worst hit by liquidity issue plaguing non-banking
financial companies, and has seen a sharp decline in sales in rural and urban markets. Also, the
industry practice of offering steep discounts in December to clear inventory is likely to add to the
weakness in stocks of automobile companies. The market will be eyeing commentary from sector
bellwether Maruti Suzuki India Ltd on outlook for sales in the coming months. Stocks will also take
cues from the broader market.
