Telecom stocks are seen trading positively next week on value buying after having undergone corrections in the last few weeks. The long-term view on telecom stocks is seen positive as regulatory fiasco related to spectrum is expected to settle down and the financials of the companies are seen improving as the hyper-competitive environment recedes. Sistema Shyam TeleServices Ltd, promoted by Russia's Sistema JSFC, this week stated that they will shut down their operations in 10 circles, while Telenor-promoted Uninor has decided to close operations in Mumbai in adherence to a Supreme Court judgement passed last Friday. The loss of new operators such as Sistema Shyam and Uninor is expected to be the gain of incumbent operators as the subscribers affected by the shutdowns would switch to other operators. Subscriber data of companies providing services on the global system of mobile communications platform also showed a rebound in January, with company’s net-adding 403,258 users after two consecutive months of decline.
