* BHARAT HEAVY ELECTRICALS: Has slashed the number of engineers it plans to hire this year.

* DR REDDY'S LABORATORIES: Will relocate its North America headquarters to Princeton, from Bridgewater near New Jersey . It also plans to establish an research and development centre in Princeton .

* EDUCOMP SOLUTIONS: Sold its entire 50% stake in IndiaCan to joint venture partner Pearson.

* GATI: Plans to merge five of its subsidiaries with itself to ensure better management, improved risk management, and higher realisation.

* HOTEL LEELAVENTURES: Has put its marquee property in Channakyapuri, New Delhi , on the block.

* JINDAL STAINLESS: Has entered into a strategic agreement with Korean steelmaker Posco, which will help the company to stabilise production of alloy used in cars and home appliances.

* KINGFISHER AIRLINES: STATE BANK OF INDIA has sent the airline a legal notice relating to the recovery of loans.

* MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA: Is likely to sign a wage settlement agreement with workers at its Nashik plant by Thursday. Mahindra Reva said it expects to sell around 6,000 units of e20 in the first year.

* MANGALORE CHEMICALS & FERTILIZERS: McDowell Holdings sold 1.2 mln shares of the company in the open market on Mar 28 for 33.97 mln rupees.

* MCDOWELL HOLDINGS: A lender has invoked pledge on 200,000 shares of the company that were offered as collateral by promoter UNITED BREWERIES HOLDINGS.

* MMTC: The Department of Disinvestment is planning to launch this month or early May the 9.33% stake sale in MMTC.

* MSR INDIA: Has approved a 10-for-1 stock split.

* NTPC: Is in talks with BHARAT HEAVY ELECTRICALS to form a joint venture to set up a 100 MW power project based on a new technology. The company maybe compelled to move its second Odisha project due to delay in land clearance and other approvals. Has sought to trash COAL INDIA 's claim that joint sample testing had refuted the power generator's claim of getting poor quality coal.

* OIL AND NATURAL GAS CORP: Has signed a MoU with CHAMBAL FERTILISERS AND CHEMICALS for setting up a unit in the Unakoti district of Tripura.

* RELIANCE COMMUNICATIONS: The Calcutta HC has temporarily barred the telecom department from imposing a one-time charge of 17.57 bln rupees on CDMA airwaves the company holds.

* RELIANCE INDUSTRIES: Has come across traces of natural gas in a well drilled in the producing area of D6 block in Krishna-Godavari Basin , indicating that a discovery may be forthcoming. Has awarded a contract to the Linde Group to build plants for generatingand purifying gases at its Jamnagar refining and petrochemicals complex.

* STATE BANK OF INDIA : The government's holding in the bank rose to 62.31% from 61.58% earlier, following the allotment of 12.99 mln shares on
preferential basis.

* TATA GLOBAL BEVERAGES: NourishCo, the company's joint venture with PepsiCo, is expanding its value added water range across the country.

* THE INDIAN HOTELS CO: Delhi HC has restrained New Delhi Municipal Council from taking any "coercive step" against the Tata Group company in the Taj Mansingh case.
