* RELIANCE INDUSTRIES: Oil ministry has formally initiated a note for the Cabinet to appoint a consultant to verify if gas output at KG-D6 block fell because of a geological surprise as the company says.

- Comptroller and Auditor General of India are likely to pull up the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons and the company over an alleged hoarding of gas. The government is yet to consider a proposal that may disallow the company from charging a higher price when it starts compensating for the shortfall in gas supply from Krishna-Godavari basin.

* STATE BANK OF INDIA : The All India Bank Employees Association and the Bank Employees Federation of India have called off their strike Wednesday following assurance from the government and the company that no decision has been taken on merging associate banks of the company.

- The next management team at the company will decide on the proposed mergers of associated banks with the company. The bank has stopped lending to road projects that have not completed land acquisition for any part of a proposed stretch, a move aimed at stemming the spike in bad loans.

* TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES: GE, Saudi Aramco and the company have launched together an all-women business process outsourcing services centre in Riyadh .

* TATA MOTORS: Company's Spanish arm Tata Hispano Motors Carrocera SA plans to stop operations at its Zaragoza factory, as a sharp drop in production and sales has made manufacturing untenable.

- Arm Jaguar Land Rover said it plans to invest 50 mln pound sterling (approximately 50 bln rupees) to set up a research and development facility at the University of Warwick , which would be ready by 2016.

* TECH MAHINDRA: Plans to expand its business in West Asia , where it has seen strong growth in last two years.

* TV TODAY NETWORK: Has significantly increased its hiring budget for 2013-14 (Apr-Mar) compared with that in 2011-12 and 2012-13.

* UNITED BREWERIES (HOLDINGS): Vijay Mallya intends to keep fertiliser subsidiary MANGALORE CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS within the group and has offered to buy back shares from ZUARI AGRO CHEMICALS if they chose to sell them.

* UNITED SPIRITS: Company has appointed Anand Kripalu as the next managing director and chief executive officer of the company from May 1.

* V-GUARD INDUSTRIES: Will commission a solar water heater manufacturing facility at Perundurai in Tamil Nadu today.

* VIDEOCON INDUSTRIES: Promoter Shree Dhoot Trading & Agencies sold 1.8 mln shares through an offer for sales at a clearing price of 178.25 rupees.

* WINDSOR MACHINES: Arm Wintal Machines has inked a preliminary transfer of business pact with Italian authorities for leasing business of Italtech, with the aim of buying the latter in a predetermined time period.
