* AGRICULTURE: Maharashtra Chief Minister Chavan, along with representatives of farmers' and sugar mills' organisations, will meet Prime Minister Singh

* AVIATION: SPICEJET and JET AIRWAYS have agreed to pay 250 mln rupees and 800 mln rupees, respectively, to Airports Authority of India by Nov 29 to settle dues.

* MINING: The Centre said in Supreme Court it had "serious objection" to the plea for making Shah panel report on illegal iron-ore mining public and

* POLICY: The Union Cabinet has deferred decision on revised foreign direct investment policy for the pharmaceutical and realty sectors. 

* POLITICS: Aam Aadmi Party filed a defamation case against the head of an online news portal and two senior officials of TV news channel for airing
"doctored" sting operation on its Delhi assembly candidates. 

* POWER: Nine companies, including TATA POWER CO, ADANI POWER and NTPC, have submitted initial bids for the proposed 4,000 MW UMPP in Odisha's Bedabahal.

* REGULATORY: Large companies striking synchronised arbitrage deals that weaken the rupee have caught the RBI's attention. 

* RETAIL: Wal-Mart Stores plans to shelve expansion of its cash-and-carry stores in India until 2015 as it focuses on compliance with US anti-graft law
and inquiries related to that in India . 

* TAX: Finance ministry has clarified tax authorities shall not return any applications received under its Service Tax Voluntary Compliance
Encouragement Scheme. Government is considering a Goods and Services Tax rate much lower that the standard rate for small businesses.
