Metals Stocks Outlook For The Week - 08 To 12.10.2018

             Equity Cash/Futures/Options Segment

Stocks of metal and mining companies are likely to be subdued next week, as market sentiment
remains fragile. The Nifty 50 and the Sensex saw their steepest weekly fall since February 2016, as
higher crude oil prices and weakness in the rupee weighed on sentiment. Aluminium producers will
remain on the radar as prices of the metal are likely to inch up further after Norsk Hydro announced it would temporarily shut its alumina refinery in Brazil, the largest in the world. This is likely to lead to a spurt in prices of alumina a raw material used in the production of aluminium. Producers of aluminium have been raising product prices, and are likely to continue doing so. Steel companies will be eyed, as these are most likely to raise product prices as they enter a seasonally strong period. JSW Steel is likely to detail its sales and production figures for the September quarter.
