Cement Stocks Outlook For The Week - 31.12.2018 To 04.01.2019
Stocks of cement companies are seen trading in a thin range next week in the absence of major triggers. Trade volumes are seen lower in the coming week, as foreign participants stay away during New Year holidays. However, investors are likely to position themselves for corporate earnings for the December quarter. Cement companies are expected to post a good set of numbers for Oct-Dec.
Investors will remain focused on the next meeting of the GST Council, after Finance Minister Arun
Jaitley on Monday indicated that moving cement to a lower goods and services tax slab would be a
priority. Shares of ACC, Ambuja Cement, and UltraTech Cement are likely to trade range-bound nextweek. Other cement stocks are also likely to trade sideways to positive. The decline in global petcoke prices is likely to continue next week and, as such, retail cement prices may fall. The fall would, however, be limited as retail cement prices have likely bottomed out.
