* AGRICULTURE: Cabinet panel approves hike in minimum support price for kharif crops.

* AVIATION: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has allowed domestic airlines to charge a premium for 25% of pre-booked seats. Airlines have cut fares by about 15% on some routes to boost passenger traffic in the lean Jun-Sep monsoon season.

* BANKING: The government may direct state-run banks to treat borrower's account as non-performing if loan to the company has become a bad asset.

* CEMENT: Competition Commission of India has given its go-ahead to the proposed 14% stake sale of Lafarge India to Baring Private Equity Asia.

* ECONOMY: Financing India 's current account deficit in 2013-14 (Apr-Mar) could pose a challenge because of the stretched global liquidity and country's waning attractiveness as an investment destination, CRISIL Research said.

    - Small Industries Development Bank of India has signed two loan agreements for 100 mln Euros and 500,000 euros with the Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau (KfW) of Germany to finance micro and small enterprises.

* FINANCE: IL&FS Securities is in negotiations with Avendus Capital for buying the latter's broking business.

* ENERGY: India 's petrol demand growth at around 10% in June and that of diesel at 8%. Petrol sales jumped 31.2% on year in May, while that of diesel were a tad down.

-Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved hiking gas price to $8.4 per mBtu from $4.2 mBtu for five years beginning April 2014.

The CCEA has cleared the coal regulatory authority bill.  India and Japan are looking to propose a new pricing formula for natural gas imports that reflects the true demand-supply dynamics in Asia .

* HDFC BANK: Has directed its branches not to accept credit card payment for gold coin purchases.

* INSURANCE: Dewan Housing Finance has entered into negotiations to acquire majority stake in DLF Pramerica Life Insurance Co.

* MONSOON: India Jun 27 rain reported at 12.6 mm, 60% above normal said Indian Meteorological Department.

* PHARMA: Drug regulator may ask pharmaceutical companies to make disclosures on any action taken against their facilities in India by international drug regulators.

* POWER: The oil ministry's proposal to increase natural gas prices to $6.775 per mBtu is expected to push up power generation costs by 56%, but the scope of passing on this entire burden to consumers remain "limited", India Ratings & Research said.

* RETAIL: A committee set up by the government to look into Walmart's alleged bribery case, has refused to give the retailer a clean chit.

* REGULATORY: RBI says it has tested banking system resilience for credit risk.

* SHIPPING: A 36.86-bln-rupee tender by Chennai port was scrapped after several attempts to get bids failed.

* TAX: Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance has endorsed state government's views on most of the issues regarding the proposed Goods and Services Tax.

* TELECOM: Teja Networks, which has applied for a subsidy to the information technology department, plans to invest 17.69 bln rupees on telecom equipment.

    - The armed forces have claimed rights to part of the spectrum airwaves the telecom department seeks to auction.

* TRADE: Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma hinted that the government may soon issue some clarification relaxing the norms for foreign direct investment in multi-brand retail.

* TRANSPORT: The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corp of India plans to seek Cabinet approval to spend 950 bln rupees for setting up western and eastern rail freight passageways.
