* ADANI PORTS AND SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE: The environment ministry has levied a 2-bln rupees fine on the compnay's Mundra Port and SEZ for damaging mangroves, creeks and the local environment at the project site.

* COAL INDIA: The finance ministry is pushing the company to buy back 5% of its shares if it is not able to proceed with its public issue due to poor market conditions. Has offered supplies to all power units that don't feature in the list of entities with which the company has to sign fuel-sharing agreement, but are
commissioned and need immediate coal linkage to start power generation 

* DALMIA BHARAT: Cement despatches increased by nearly 10% on year to 768,000 tn in August.

* FINANCIAL TECHNOLOGIES (INDIA): Arm National Spot Exchange has declared 153.7 mln rupees pay-out as compared to 1.74 bln rupee due Tuesday. The special panel of government officials looking into the payment default crisis at the National Spot Exchange will submit its report on Sep 12.
    The promoter of National Spot Exchange and anchor investor of MULTI COMMODITY EXCHANGE, Ravi K Sheth confirmed he would quit as a director. 
    Banks with exposure to the company's warehousing arm have become wary about the potential risks they face in the aftermath of 55.72-bln-rupee payment crisis at National Spot Exchange. 

* FUTURE VENTURES INDIA : Warburg Pincus is set to buy a 3.50-bln rupee minority stake in brand Biba, including purchase of the stake held by company.

* GAMMON INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS: India has denied security clearance to Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co to supply gear to a container loading facility being built by the company at Mumbai port.

* GUJARAT GAS COMPANY: Has inked a memorandum of understanding with Gujarat State Petroleum Corp for buying 0.85 mcmd of gas per day through a long-term deal.

* INFOSYS: V Balakrishnan could soon be the CEO of the software company.

* JET AIRWAYS INDIA : Is currently considering hiking airfares due to the rise in prices of aviation turbine fuel.
    Etihad is likely to complete its purchase of a 24% stake in company by Sep 20 as all regulatory clearances are expected to be in place by then. Hopes to minimise the impact of a sharp rupee depreciation by growing its international routes.

* KARNATAKA BANK: Has raised interest rates on non-resident external rupee deposits by 50 basis points for maturities of 3-10 years effective Monday.

* KINGFISHER AIRLINES: Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Aggarwal received a package of 40 mln rupees in 2012-13. Lenders are actively considering an option to declare company as "wilful defaulter" as per the rules of the Reserve Bank of India .

* LANCO INFRATECH: Slashed staff strength from about 8,500 in 2010-11 to about 4,500 as of March 2013.

* LIC HOUSING FINANCE: Has launched home loan schemes for women borrowers who are sole owners or first owners of the property.

* MINDTREE: Aims to acquire small-sized companies that would help it build scale in some of its domains such as infrastructure management and package
applications.

* MULTI COMMODITY EXCHANGE: The Forward Markets Commission has sought data from about its members to verify bourse members' fund contribution into the settlement guarantee fund.

* PONNI SUGARS (ERODE): Has produced 8,339 tn of sugar in August, compared to 8,399 tn in July. The company sold 6,688 tn of the sweetener in August, compared to 4,749 tn in the previous month.

* REDINGTON ( INDIA ): Arm has bought 47.8% stake in a Turkish information services company for $1.09 mln.

* RURAL ELECTRIFICATION CORPORATION: Has received 154.2 mln rupees for sale of its arm to POWER GRID CORP OF INDIA.

* STRIDES ARCOLAB: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved US-based Mylan Inc's 51.68-bln-rupee proposal to acquire the injectable
business of the company.

* SWAGRUHA INFRASTRUCTURE: Board has approved a two-for-one stock split.

* TORRENT POWER: Has become the first power producer to get direct supply of natural gas from Petronet LNG to feed its station.
