* AUTOMOBILES: Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the Land Cruiser Prado premium sports utility vehicle in India at 8.5 mln rupees. Mercedes Benz to open AMG--its performance booster range--outlets to cash in on sports car demand. Hyundai Motor's India Grandi10 has entered the list of top five selling car brands within 90 days of its roll out. 

* AVIATION: IndiGo has been thrown a legal challenge by GoAir, which said it is losing online customers to the carrier because of similarity in the first part of their website domain names. 

* ENERGY: Governments of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Maharashtra tell the Supreme Court that coal mines were primarily allocated by the Centre and they had a very limited role in the allocation. The apex court is hearing a batch of public interest petitions filed by individuals and NGOs, which allege illegality in the grant of coal blocks by the government. 

* EXCHANGES: Forward Markets Commission has decided to extend deadline for mandatory registration of exchange-accredited warehouses by three months to Mar 31. 

* FINANCIAL SERVICES: Morgan Stanley India Financial Services will cease to do business in the market due to voluntary closure from Dec 12. 

* FMCG: Amul's chairman Vipul Chaudhary has been voted out from the board by 15 out of 18 directors. 

* INSURANCE: The bill to raise foreign direct investment limit in the sector to 49% from 26% is likely to be moved in the last week of the winter session.

* POWER: The power ministry, which has released draft amendments to the National Tariff Policy to further promote competition and reduction in distribution
losses, would be meeting today to discuss the amendments with key stakeholders.

* PRIVATE EQUITY: Aion Capital Partners and Apollo Global Management are together investing 9.6 bln rupees in Avantha Holdings - the holding company
of the Avantha Group. 

* REGULATORY: The Reserve Bank of India may provide opportunities in the future for traders to engage in all types of trades, including speculative ones.
The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority has sought a proposal to set up an insurance fraud repository to reduce monitoring costs. 

* RETAIL: Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla has said he is open to inducting a foreign partner in his retail business.

* TAXATION: The government's net direct tax collection during Apr-Nov grew 14.6% on year to 3.10 trln rupees.Cabinet has approved cadre restructuring of the Central Board of Excise and Customs officers. With this, CBEC will employ 20,000 more officials. 

* TELECOM: Aircel may become the second firm to launch 4G services in India over the next three to six months.
