Stocks
of major cement companies are seen in a phase of consolidation in the run up to
their respective Jul-Sep earnings. Investors would be seen building their
positions before the companies start coming up with their results (Jul-Sep).
Quarterly
earnings of cement companies are not seen showing good growth on account of
persisting weak demand. Among the top picks from the sector was market leader
UltraTech Cement Ltd, which is likely to see a rise in net profit on account of
better cost efficiency.
Cement
companies typically see a weak quarter in Jul-Sep as monsoon keeps demand
subdued and this year the added hit of a slowdown in the infrastructure sector
has hurt the industry hard.
