Shares
of cement companies are seen trading down next week due to low
demand
for building material across large parts of the country and weak
earnings
reported by major producers. Last week, ACC and Ambuja
Cements
reported weaker-than-expected Oct-Dec earnings.
Cement
prices remain tepid and this has worried the industry. Many
cement
dealers are of the view that such a worrying trend has not been
seen
in last 10 years. Most of them believe companies are not willing to
compromise
on market share, which coupled with year-end cement sales
volume
push by Ambuja, ACC and Lafarge, has led to a pressure on
cement prices
