Republican Donald Trump's unexpected victory in the US
presidential elections has left investors
with a cautious view on the Indian information technology
sector, shares of which are seen trading
with negative bias next week.
However, the sector may get some respite as the Indian
currency is likely to fall further against the
US dollar, helping software exporters. The IT sector, which
took a severe hit following Britain's
decision to exit the European Union, is expected to take
another beating with Trump at the helm of
US policies. The president-elect during his campaign had
promised stringent immigration and trade
norms, which are likely to hurt earnings of Indian IT
companies.
