FMCG Stocks Outlook for the week - 28.08.2017 to 01.09.2017
( www.rupeedesk.in )
The shares of most fast-moving consumer goods companies are seen trading sideways in the coming week as most stocks are likely to consolidate at current levels in the near term. The disruption in retail and wholesale trade channels, which started with demonetisation and then de-stocking before goods and services tax, is likely to ease in the near term. The Growth was particularly weak for some companies such as Emami Ltd, Marico Ltd, while a few others such as Britannia Industries Ltd and Hindustan Unilever Ltd managed to post flat-to-low single-digit volume growth. The paints and varnishes industry is likely to record strong growth in the near term as monsoon rains ease over most parts of the country. While good monsoon augurs well for rural areas, it is mostly after rains that the demand for paint perks up. Most paint traders have also moved to the GST platform, which will help
urban sales.
