* BANKING: Citibank has reduced its Base Rate by 25 basis points to 9.50% with effect from Jan 10.

* CAPITAL GOODS: Construction equipment maker Case New Holland Construction Equipment India is planning to augment capacity from 2014.

* MINING: The Supreme Court will on Feb 11 hear a plea by Bhushan Power and Steel seeking a direction to the Odisha government to recommend its name to the central government for the grant of 128 mln tn iron ore reserves in Sundergarh district of the state.

* MUTUAL FUNDS: The Budget may make pension products of all mutual funds as tax saving instruments.

* REGULATORY: The Securities and Exchange Board of India has announced changes in the process of scheme of reconstruction, mergers or dermergers carried out by listed companies making it mandatory for them to seek independent valuation report which needs to be cleared by the audit committee of the company's board.

* RETAIL: The Foreign Investment Promotion Board is likely to take up proposals\ of four global brands worth over 7.50 bln rupees for setting up single-brand retail stores in India in its next meeting scheduled on Feb 13.

* TELECOM: Tata Teleservices has introduced a new pre-paid tariff plan for the Delhi-National Capital Region, offering local and national calls at 1.2 paise per two seconds, with a validity period of 30 days.  China 's ZTE Corp is shutting down its research and development operations in India to optimise costs amid reduced sales.
