Cement Stocks Outlook For The Week - 01 To 05.10.2018
Stocks of cement companies are seen trading on a mixed note next week and movement is expected
to be stock-specific. The Reserve Bank of India's monetary policy meeting will remain in focus as the
decision will impact not only cement stocks but the broader market as well. ACC and Ambuja Cements are likely to trade sideways, while UltraTech Cement and Grasim Industries are looking
negative. Remain positive on the sector in the medium term as higher infrastructure spending by the
government in the run-up to general elections next year is expected to boost demand for the
construction material. Capacity utilisation of cement companies is likely to improve to 80% in
2019-20 (Apr-Mar) from 74% in 2017-18 because of strong demand growth and slower capacity
growth.
