Pharma Stocks Outlook For The Week - 01 To 05.10.2018
Stocks of pharmaceutical companies are likely to move lower next week as risk aversion in the broader markets may see mutual funds switching over to information technology and metal companies' at the expense of the sector. In our view, IT and commodity stocks offer better
reward-risk balance versus pharmaceutical stocks for investors looking to 'hedge' their portfolios against possible further deterioration in India's macro economy and rupee depreciation. The Nifty Pharma index under performed the benchmark Nifty 50 for the second successive week. This week, the Nifty Pharma index fell nearly 3% as against a near 2% fall in the Nifty 50. Cues from broader market are likely to further dent sentiment towards the sector as the benchmark indices are expected to remain subdued next week as investors remain risk-averse.
