Telecom Stocks Outlook For The Week - 01 To 05.10.2018
Stocks of telecom companies are likely to be under pressure next week due to concern over the
Supreme Court's judgment on Aadhaar barring mobile operators from insisting on unique
identification number verification, as it may hurt new subscriber additions. Persistent tariff pressure and deteriorating financials have already dragged Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea down by 15% and 49% respectively over the last six months. The decline in the broader market is also expected to weigh on telecom stocks. Benchmark indices ended 6% lower in September, making it the worst month for the market. Anyway nobody is buying or selling telecom stocks right now due to the tariff pressure. Now even the broader market is declining and this may make it worse. Markets are shut on Tuesday on account of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti.
