Telecom Stocks Outlook For The Week - 10 To 14.09.2018
Stocks of telecom companies are likely to remain subdued next week as pricing pressure will continue to weigh on the sector's financials. Idea Cellular completed its merger with Vodafone India last week to form the country's largest mobile operator Vodafone Idea Ltd, but it is unlikely to hold on to its numero uno position for long, at least in terms of revenue, if Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd continues to eat into its market share even if Bharti Airtel does not. This has already led to a weak sentiment for Idea Cellular. The long-term outlook for Bharti Airtel is upbeat, but the company is expected to face pressure from Reliance Jio, which has entered two more segments in which the former operates--fibre broadband and television set-top box. We are likely to await Jio Giga Fiber's
commercial launch and announcement of tariff.
