Stocks of cement companies are seen falling next week as they look weak on technical charts. Cement stocks are looking weak for next week. They will also take cues from broader market
which is also looking negative. The change in RBI's monetary policy stance to 'calibrated tightening' from 'neutral' and clear statements that rates are best set to remain at current levels, and rise in the worst case, is likely to weigh on the benchmark indices next week. However, we are positive on cement demand in the medium-term, as they expect it to rise on higher infrastructure spending by the government in the run up to the general elections next year. The slowdown in pace of new capacity addition is also likely to return pricing power to the companies.
