Earnings of Reliance Jio Infocomm, to be released Wednesday, will be the key trigger for telecom
stocks next week. Reliance Jio has been the only company with profitable telecom operations in India, but the new entrant's average revenue per user has also been declining. Commentary from the subsidiary of Reliance Industries will be closely watched for indications about its strategy on tariffs. Reliance Jio's low tariff since its launch in September 2016 has dragged all other companies into losses. The general trend in telecom stocks continues to be weak despite the rebound in some stocks this week as pricing pressure is expected to continue weighing on earnings.
