Stocks of pharmaceutical companies are expected to trade in a narrow range next week because investors are likely to stay on the sidelines in the absence of major cues. Stocks of Lupin, Cipla and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries will be in focus as they are likely to disclose the outcome of reported
US FDA inspections at their respective facilities. This week, the Nifty Pharma index underperformed the benchmark indices. The Nifty Pharma index fell 0.3% compared with a 3% rise in the Nifty 50. The broader market, however, may support the sector as the 50-stock benchmark index is expected to gain next week on expectation of a likely US-China trade deal during the G-20 Summit.
