Cement Stocks Outlook For The Week - 14 To 18.01.2019
Stocks of most cement companies are seen trading in a thin range next week, and will track the broader market in the absence of any major sector-specific trigger. Movement in the sector will b e stock-specific as investors will ey e the respective earnings for Oct- Dec. We expect a tepid quarter for cement companies and sees contraction in operating margin across the sector. Investors were disappointed as the GST Council, in its January meet, did not lower the tax slab for cement. However, market participants will focus on the next meeting as Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had indicated that moving cement to a lower GST slab is a priority. Market participants are optimistic about a hike in cement prices in February or March.
