Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd's earnings on Thursday will be a key trigger for telecom stocks, and any comments on tariff strategy is likely to impact the sector. Reliance Jio is expected to post a 7% on-quarter rise in Oct-Dec net profit to 7.29 bln rupees, according to HDFC Securities. We expects revenue to grow 11% on quarter led by 14% growth in subscribers to about 280 mln and a decline of 2% in average revenue per user due to rising contribution from low-ARPU Jio Phone subscribers.
Corporate earnings are also likely to give direction to the broader market as heavyweights Reliance Industries and Hindustan Unilever report their earnings next week.
