* AUTOMOBILE: Volkswagen India has raised prices of its models Polo and Vento by 2.27%.

* AVIATION: Go Airlines ( India ) expects to break even in 2012-13 (Apr-Mar) and sees revenue at 22 bln rupees. Ministry of Civil Aviation will roll back a hike in royalty charged from companies providing maintenance, repair, and overhaul services to operators of chartered flights or owners. Air India has put all its newly-acquired Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner planes on sale and leaseback and has invited bids by February.

* BANKING: RBI has expressed concern that the widening gap between credit and deposit growth could pose a risk for systemic liquidity.

* COAL: The Centre has decided to tell the Supreme Court that it is legally empowered to allocate coal blocks and is preparing facts to make a strong case.

* CONGLOMERATE: Hinduja Group is planning to significantly expand presence in Africa in areas like transport, infrastructure and coal and will look to partner governments of various African countries for its new business in the region.

* ENERGY: Nagaland has invited bids for 11 exploration blocks in the state without involving the petroleum ministry.

* EXCHANGES: SEBI has allowed Hyderabad Securities and Enterprises, earlier known as Hyderabad Stock Exchange, to cease operations.

* GOVERNMENT: Ministry of Environment has refused to work in tandem with the commerce and industry ministry for the eBiz platform that seeks to serve as a one-stop platform for all business licences.

* PHARMECEUTICAL: GlaxoSmithKline will sign a deal with India 's Biological E for research and development activities pertaining to a six-in-one vaccine for polio and other infectious disease.

* REGULATORY: RBI says India 's widening current account deficit, which is projected to top 4% of gross domestic product in 2012-13, has become a major constraint on monetary policy easing.  If not contained, RBI says the high level of fiscal deficit and rise in revenue expenditure by the government may add to the inflationary process.

* STEEL: The government will review South Korean steel company POSCO's 52-bln-rupee project in Odisha which has been stuck for long over land and other regulatory issues.

* TAXES: The centre and states have agreed on a compensation formula for Central Sales Tax, a major hurdle in implementing Goods & Services Tax.

* TELECOM: Aircel said it has waived off roaming charges across India and is offering one rate for voice, SMS and data across its network.

* TOURISM: The government has cut allocation for the tourism ministry to 9.50 bln rupees from 12.10 bln rupees in the current financial year due to a fiscal crunch.
