* LARSEN & TOUBRO: Arm L&T Shipbuilding has won an order worth $100 mln from Qatar 's Halul Offshore Services Co WLL for six specialised commercial vessels. 

* MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA: Mahindra Two Wheelers has received international patents for four of its indigenously developed technologies. The company will launch a sporty bike next year in order to strengthen its offerings in the two-wheeler space. 

* NIIT: Company has launched a six-month programme in business analytics to churn out data scientists and business analytics professionals. 

* NMDC: Company said its iron ore production for Apr-Nov was 17.34 mln tn against output target of 30 mln tn by March. 

* NTPC: Kulamani Biswal has been appointed as the company's director-finance for five years. Company has recorded the highest power generation for a single day for 2013-14 (Apr-Mar) on Saturday, with production of 710.54 mln units of electricity. 

* OIL & NATURAL GAS: Venezuela has held back dividend payment of around $421 mln to arm ONGC Videsh to pressure the company into bankrolling the entire cost of developing two oil projects even though it does not own 100% in them. 

- ONGC Videsh has begun renegotiating the exploration deal in Iraq that was signed 13 years back with the Saddam Hussein administration. 

* STEEL AUTHORITY OF INDIA : Has invited expression of interest to form a joint venture for making steel and related products at Visvesvaraya Iron and Steel plant. 

* STATE BANK OF INDIA : Has received government approval to raise 95.76 bln rupees through qualified institutional placement. 

* TATA CHEMICALS: Arm Tata Chemicals Europe to restructure soda ash and sodium bicarbonate business in Northwich, UK, and production may be shut during Jan-Mar. 

* UNITED BANK OF INDIA: Bank said its fund raising plans are unlikely to be affected by the rating downgrade of its bonds. 

* VENUS REMEDIES: Has signed a memorandum of understanding with Austell Laboratories to sell the latter's antibiotic medicine Elores in South Africa .
